The drum thickener WE-DT is designed to efficiently thicken sludge by utilizing a double-phased thickening process. The first phase involves flocculation, where sludge and polymer are mixed together to form flocks. This process helps to increase the density of the sludge.
In the second phase, the sludge is separated from the water in the rotary drum. The sludge is pushed by a spiral screw and eventually discharged from the end of the drum. Meanwhile, the water is separated through the surface cloths of the drum.
One of the major advantages of the WE-DT thickener is its rotary movement, which increases the gravitational pressure and helps to form rolling flocks. This results in a higher thickening efficiency compared to conventional belt thickeners.
The thickened sludge produced by the WE-DT typically contains 6-8% of dry solids, even with very thin sludge inlet. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.
The drum surface of the thickener is cleaned using a pressure water-jet with a nozzle equipped with an internal brush. This ensures that the drum remains clean and free from any blockages.
The WE-DT thickener has a closed and compact construction, which makes it easy to install and helps to minimize odor and splashing issues. It is available in various capacities, ranging from 1 to 100m3/h.
The thickener is composed of a drive head with a gearmotor, a reactor vessel (which can be integrated or external), an internal screw and surface cloth, a washing system, and a complete structure.
The operational philosophy of the thickener involves flocculation of the sludge, drainage of the sludge through the screw pushing, rinsing of the wire filter cloth, discharge of the filtrate water, and collection of the thickened sludge by a pump or screw.
With its robust construction and intelligent control systems, the WE-DT thickener ensures consistent performance and trouble-free operation.
